Great Mystery Salons
Engage in meaningful conversations with others who share the vision of a more beautiful and sustainable world. Join or start a conversation in your community and become an active participant in shaping our future.
From the ancient Greek symposia to Gertrude Stein's famous Paris gatherings, salons have always been the incubators of provocative ideas—the frontiers of cultural change. And passionate conversation often led to passionate action.
Modelled after the salons of old, Great Mystery Salons provide a format where you come together in someone’s livingroom/salon or community space to explore the current global situation and what to do about it in one’s own backyard.
We encourage you to come together as an extended family and talk about some of the topics we’ve put on the table such as spirituality, evolutionary change, indigenous teachings, the ancients, sustainability, environmental actions, shamanism, alternative health, quality relationships, or whatever you find of interest.
This is a wonderful way to make new friends and to learn from one another. During this time of unprecedented change many of us may find ourselves alone with our questions and challenges. With traditional religion no longer filling our spiritual needs and scientific materialism leaving us with soulless exploitative competitive explanations, we need an expanded community of friends. Often we do not find respite from our current relationships. As Barbara Marx Hubbard points out, “Humanity is facing unprecedented, evolutionary change,” and we need others to share it with.
If you would like to participate in a Salon but there is not one in your area, consider becoming a coordinator. We will help you organize your Salon and act as an intermediary to help you connect with others in your area.
Once you indicate that you would like to join a salon, as a participant or coordinator, we will automatically subscribe you to receive the Great Mystery newsletter, and from time to time we will send out newsletters with comments, photos and curiosities passed on from the local groups.
