Prophets Conference Meet-Ups
During this time of unprecedented change many of us may find ourselves alone with our questions and challenges. With traditional religion no longer filling our spiritual needs and scientific materialism leaving us with soulless exploitative competitive explanations, we need an expanded community of friends. Often we do not find respite from our current relationships. As Barbara Marx Hubbard points out, “Humanity is facing unprecedented, evolutionary change,” and we need others to share it with.
We at GreatMystery.org are encouraging you to come together in an extended family through Meet-Ups where you get together to talk about some of the topics we’ve put on the table, such as 2012, spirituality, evolutionary change, indigenous teachings, the ancients, environmental actions, shamanism, alternative health, quality relationships, or whatever you find of interest. This is a wonderful way to make new friends and meet kin and to learn from one another.
If you would like to have meet-ups in your country, city, town or neighborhood, please let us know. You would need someone to help organize your meet-ups and we will act as an intermediary to help you connect. If you would like to meet others in cafes, homes, parks, or other settings, you will need to organize it and if interested you could become a facilitator by contacting us through email at prophets@greatmystery.org. With discretion we will then ask those truly interested in meeting up to contact the local organizer. And there you go.
After GreatMystery.org Meet-ups are off and running, we will put out a regular Meet-Up Newsletter to participants with comments and curiosities passed on from your local groups.
Tips for coping with bad news burnout
GreatMystery.org Meet-Ups are especially good for coping with bad news burnout. During this time of endless catastrophes that congest our media landscape - a world of oil spills, economic downturns and political instabilities, bad news can get you down. By coming together to help one another grasp what’s going in both a physical and spiritual perspective, we may find ourselves being instruments of change. As Andrew Harvey points out, “Catastrophe can become grace, and disaster possibility, only if we transform their energy by accepting what they have to teach us and acting with complete sincerity to transform ourselves.” We see social networking through GreatMystery.org Meet-Ups as a viable route toward transformation, where coming together can make a difference in many ways.
Sometimes it feels really good to have a meaningful conversation with new and old friends.
