When point and shoot digital cameras began to replace their film counterparts, all over the world people began to notice circular or spherical shaped optical anomalies appearing in their digital pictures which were not detectable by the naked eye. Such features had been recorded in the age of film cameras as well, but they were relatively rare occurrences.
All our human faculties operate only in a very narrow band. The hearing and seeing abilities of many birds and animals leave human capabilities in the shade.

Modest though our power of sight undoubtedly is, it has an even greater limitation; we can perceive only a very narrow range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Unfortunately we have tended to regard as real only what falls within that narrow range, or at least we used to until the appearance of powerful, and even fatal, invisible realities, such as nuclear radiation or x-rays.
The orbs exist outside our normal range of vision, as well as outside the normal range of any of our other senses. At this point that is as far as we can go in determining how different they may be in state or nature from us. I think we should base our investigations firmly on that piece of evidence and not go past it until good reasons to do so appear.
In this study we are poised on the brink of a fascinating sphere of discovery about the nature of the universe in which we live and how we relate to other phenomena that make it up. But as a race our initial reaction when some apparently new form of existence is discovered is unfortunately to go to one of two extremes; either to regard it as an innately superior form of existence, before which we want to bow down; or else to ask what it is supposed to be there for in terms of use to us: a powerful indicator that we have not yet managed to get past the old mindset that we are at the centre of the universe!

The existence of the orb phenomena was first made known to me at Ramtha’s School of Ancient Wisdom in detailed teachings from six years ago, but those teachings had simply continued his discussions of the orbs that had been occurring since the early 1980s. The photography of orbs has been a commonplace at every Event held at the School since then. Six years ago I began a very intense and systematic study of the orbs in all sort of situations, day and night, and in all sorts of atmospheric conditions, and drew conclusions from that guided and inspired by those teachings on the nature of reality. My intent was to discover what I could about the nature of the orbs and the situations in which their presence could be most easily detected, and what if any, implications they might have for our understanding of our own place in the cosmos. To date this has resulted in a collection of well over 100,000 images that I have taken personally, which some have told me means I have probably done more work on this phenomenon than at least most other people of whom I am aware.
I have exhaustively catalogued the enormous diversification of patterns and types of orbs, and I have termed the patterns of concentric circles bumps and indents that the orbs often display, as “orb fingerprints,”TM because these features are different from one individual to the next and remain constant. This readily permits the identification of individual orbs from one photographic session to another, or within the same session.
The orb shaped beings can transform into very complex and colorful formations, to which I applied the term “plasmoids,” plasma conventionally being described as the fourth state of matter. These plasmoids, perhaps forty to fifty feet in diameter, can appear and disappear again in a fraction of a second.

There are countless other forms that are less common, in fact there appear to be almost as many types of orbs as there are orbs, but the most dramatic of these in my research has been the appearance of what I term the “torsion vortices,” which as far as I am aware have not been detected or documented elsewhere so far in this form.
Even though human vision is limited to a narrow band of the electromagnetic spectrum the human eye itself receives many more levels of frequency outside the range of what we see. It is well known that it is the brain which decides what parts of the massive amount of data the eyes receive all the time is going to be allowed through to constitute normal human vision. That is based on the fact that not all the data can be handled, so only that part which is most useful for daily survival will be admitted in by the brain to form part of what we see. However, I have found that if one keeps up a keen and sustained interest in photographing these entities some quite interesting things begin to happen; presumably under this constant barrage of photographic evidence the brain now decides to stop censoring these images, since it appears they now form part of what it is we are keenly interested in seeing. So now we begin to see the orbs with the naked eye, and in more color and detail than is visible even to a digital camera.
This fascinating journey that I have conducted over the past six years, and the discoveries I have made during my research is what I will be discussing in my presentation at the Prophets Conference in Sedona in early May 2007.
All the major categories of the orb phenomenon will be discussed extensively, as well as what has been learned about the best types of equipment and techniques to use, and the most favorable conditions in which to record them photographically. I will also explore some of the more advanced aspects of the phenomenon as well, including what their existence may mean in relationship to us and to our general understanding of the diversity of forms of existence that inhabit the cosmos.

My forthcoming book on orbs, co-authored with the physicist Dr. Klaus Heinemann, will be released by a major publisher at the end of this coming Summer, and it is anticipated advance copies will be available for viewing at the Sedona Prophets Conference.
